Glow Stick Hide & Seek

GLOW STICK HIDE AND SEEK!! Glow stick hide and seek! I want to shout it from the mountains. This is my current favorite activity and we are buying more glow sticks a-sap. A-SAP.

I cannot believe we haven’t been doing this for always. This was so easy, so fun, and so entertaining to watch. A thousand apologies for how bad these pictures are. I did the best I could during this on the fly activity that we came up with on a total whim. Dark + glow sticks + toddler = I know, no excuses, play like a champ.

Here’s what we did in this fantastic activity:

I lowered the blinds in Sam’s room to make it black out dark at noon then cracked a glow stick. No big fancy directions: I just hid the glow stick around his room while he had his eyes shut and was definitely not peeking (yeah right).

Sam put this at a Gwen Stefani level of fun (you know, bananas. B-A-N-A-N-A-S). I would have to agree with his assessment, this was a hoot.

My personal favorite hiding spot was in his dresser drawer and watching him open each drawer until he found the one that opened in a glow of blue.

We could have played this all day and actually, we just about did. Then when Dad got home, we cracked another stick and had two glow sticks hide and seek. That pretty much took it to 11 and at an off the charts level of fun. It’s just all wild and crazy all the time here at the Busy Toddler house.

All kidding aside, this created an awesome play experience for us and it was something fun to do and laugh about together. Those memories are priceless.
