Talk about a great way to spice up play time with Play-Doh Faces.
Sometimes, with my toddler, Play-Doh play time is more about the act of getting out the Play-Doh than actually playing with it.
It’s like he wants to play with it but then once it’s all out – he’s at a loss for what to do with it.
I love Play-Doh so.much and there is so much value in those little containers – I just needed to find a way to jump start his imaginary play with Play-Doh. Here’s what we did (and spoiler alert: it was awesome).
I set Sam up a little Play-Doh “invitation to play” and waited for him to come downstairs and find it. He went WILD when he saw this set-up. I adore leaving him little surprise play areas to create in – it’s an easy way to bring a little extra toddler joy into the world.
How to set up Play-Doh Faces:
In the tray, I left Sam three colors of Play-Doh and a bunch of loose supplies to create with.

Sam had a bananas amount of fun creating with this set up and making Play-Doh Faces that he thought were the funniest things in the world. This was an absolute riot to him.
He moved from Play-Doh to Play-Doh happily building and playing with so much precision. It was the Play-Doh play of my dreams (oh and his dreams too). He’s asked for this three times since so I’d say we have a bona fide hit on our hands.
It was such a simple way to spice up playing and an easy chance to throw something a little different at our toddler friends. A perfect activity for us!

For some reason my son hates playdo, so we can’t do any fun playdo activities. But this one is so cute!
