What are the best Halloween activity supplies to own? Halloween activities with kids are a fun way to celebrate the season, and you don’t need to own much or spend tons of money buying extras to make these activities. This post includes the best Halloween activities supplies and all the kids activities you can make with them.
Why I love Halloween activity supplies
Halloween events and activities (I’m looking at you pumpkin patches and corn mazes) are expensive. These moments – all in the name of making memories – start to really add up.
Years ago, I decided to learn in Halloween activities at home with my kids instead shelling out cash for entrance fees and ticket prices. I figured out quickly that we could make some absolutely fantastic Halloween activities on a budget, in the comfort of our home and schedule, and without needing to miss nap time (wink).
For these Halloween activities, I picked up a few inexpensive supplies – most of which I could save year after year.
Now, as my kids are 9, 7, and 6, they eagerly open the Halloween decorations box and pull out their beloved activity supplies that hold so many memories. Memories and traditions that are still going strong many years into their childhood.

Activities to do with these Halloween supplies
You do not need to own every supply on my list all at once.
I collected these over years, and I make sure to save them for the next year. Buying a new supply or two each year gradually builds up your inventory.

Frequently Asked Questions
Amazon, Target, and the Dollar Store are all places I check for Halloween supplies. Target and the Dollar Store tend to rotate their inventory each year which means we can usually pick up 1-2 new items every Halloween season.
Absolutely NOT. There is NO expectation to do Halloween themed activities. I choose to do them as a fun way to bring season fun into my house without a high cost.
Yes! Years ago, I made my first batch of Halloween “rainbow” rice – but dyed black and orange. That rice is now the age of a preschoolers. I store it in a plastic zipper bag and keep it with my Halloween decorations.
