Looking for a cute, fun, and FREE Valentine printable? Check out my three free spy themed Valentine’s to pair with invisible ink pens. These make a quick, easy, and fun Valentine for kids.

Why does Valentine’s day always sneak up on us?
One minute you’re cruising through January, and the next you’re staring at a class list, wondering how many Valentines you need, and when you’re supposed to go to the store to get them.
This year, skip the store altogether.
I’ve created free, printable Valentine’s Day cards designed to pair perfectly with invisible ink pens. They’re fun, non-food, and easy to pull together at home with just a printer and a quick online order.
No last-minute errands required.

A Non-Candy Valentine Kids Actually Use
Invisible ink pens are one of those toys that don’t disappear into the junk drawer.
Kids love them.
They write secret messages, decode hidden notes, play spy games, and keep coming back to them long after Valentine’s Day is over. My youngest loves these and begged for a Valentine option to gift his friends.
These pens are also:
- Non-food (great for classrooms with allergies)
- Small and affordable
- Usable beyond the holiday
- A favorite from my viral gift guides, just available in bulk
I created THREE options for this Valentine in a fun spy/top secret theme, making it feel special without being over-the-top. When you go to print them, pick which theme you want to use or mix all three.
Supplies for this Valentine
Busy Toddler is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases. Read more about these links in my disclosure policy.
- White card stock
- Paper slicer or paper cutter (a paper cutter is ideal, IMO)
- Hole punch
- String, twine, or ribbon (I used yarn for mine!)

Bulk Invisible Ink Pens (pack of 28)
I bought my kids a much smaller pack for their stockings years ago and they’ve been such a hit that my youngest wanted to give them out for Valentine’s Day.
That’s it.
Simple, straightforward, and easy to batch in one sitting – pop on something good to lightly binge.

How to Put Them Together
- Print the Valentine cards on card stock for a sturdier feel. This is important! Regular printer paper just falls flat and limp. I always have card stock on hard for just such a project. Don’t forget that there are three versions of this Valentine for your child to pick from or to give out a mix of.
- Cut out the cards. This is where I did use my trust paper cutter. I actually lone this out around my neighborhood because not every house needs to have one. Check with a friend or be that friend!
- Punch one hole near the top corner of each card.
- Have your child sign their name before assembling. I have my kids sign the back.
(Tip: signing 3–5 at a time helps avoid burnout.) - Tie an invisible ink pen to each card.
- Done.
Why I Love This Valentine Option
So many classroom Valentines fall into one of two categories: candy-heavy treats or disposable party favors that end up forgotten by the end of the day. Instead, this is an allergy-friendly option with a toy kids actually love (it’s one of the most popular items on my Stocking Stuffer Gift Guide).
This will last beyond Valentine’s Day, won’t clog up the toy bin, and doesn’t require an extra trip to the store for you when your calendar is already full.
Frequently Asked Valentine’s Day Questions
Are these Valentines okay for preschool and elementary classes?
Yes! They’re especially popular with preschoolers through elementary students, and even my middle schooler loves and invisible ink pen.
Will these stain?
We haven’t had any drama with our invisible ink pens or seen anything stain. They’ve been great!
