Summer with kids can have a little structure, a little planning, and a little extra bit of summer fun.

What is “Summer Camp at Home?”
Sometimes summer can be a little daunting: schools out and the routines are gone… what do we do now?
I created this summer time resource to help make the days and weeks fly by with beautiful fun and memories.
The Camp Quick Facts:
- IT’S FREE
- 6 themed weeks of play
- Each week has 6 easy activities
- Each theme also has 1 writing prompt (for older kids) & 1 extra activity
- Manageable supply lists
- Simple ideas (low cost, low prep)
- For toddler to elementary students
I designed this summer camp at home to help. To give families a little guidance on the fun journey of summer. To help those who thrive with routines and schedules.
This is NOT meant to be overwhelming.
This is NOT meant to be stressful.
This is NOT meant to do anything other than give a little boost to your summer if you need it.
Ages for summer camp at home
There are six weeks to this summer program: you can do some of the weeks, all of the weeks, and in whatever order you’d like.
It’s flexible and up to you.
I wrote the activities to meet a wide range of ages – from homes with toddlers to elementary age children. These summer camp weeks are designed to be easily adaptable.
What themes are planned?
- STEM WEEK – Science and experiments are the theme of this week’s play.
- NATURE WEEK – Have fun in the outdoors with this easy weekly plan for playing in nature.
- GAMES WEEK – It’s all about fun & games & play! A week of learning some amazing games for kids.
- ART WEEK – Learn some new art techniques and ways to create in this hands-on week
- WATER & ICE WEEK – What would be summer without the cool and cold fun?
- CAMPING WEEK – Can’t have a summer camp without camping themed activities.
What kind of activities are included?
- The activities are easy
- The activities are fun
- The activities are themed
Each week’s theme has 6 activities – pick and choose what works for your family. These are “Busy Toddler” style activities aka low prep, few supplies, high amounts of fun and learning.
I also included a writing prompt for elementary students.
Writing is such a passion of mine, but I know writing isn’t a skill kids often keep up on in the summer. Reading is a focus. Math happens organically. Often writing stops for the summer months and it doesn’t need to be that way.
I also wanted to give writing as an optional project for when little kids are napping or in quiet time.
There’s also an extra “bonus” activity each week that typically can be left up or monitored for the entire week.

Frequently Asked Questions
This is a broad age range program. My hope was to create a program that would support families with young children (toddlers and preschoolers) and older children home from school for summer vacation. Take a look at the program and decide if it may work for your child/family.
Absolutely not. This program is for fun. Do some of the weeks. Do all of the weeks. Pick any order for the weeks based on your family’s summer schedule.
I wasn’t able to create a book list for the summer camp at home program, but I highly suggest picking out a few from the local library. Books brings topics to life.
No way. Summer camp at home is an optional program for families who are interested. It is not a requirement. Your child will not suffer without summer camp at home. This program was created to support families if they feel that a theme, anchor, routine, or schedule will help them this summer.

Thank you for this! It’s amazing, and simple and just gives my brain a break for figuring out “what to do”. Its not the prep, supplies, or clean-up of activities thats a struggle for me. It’s often just figuring out what we should do. You always take care of that in such a real and relatable way. Thank you again, you’re the best!
