Try this fun sticky number match activity today!

I can’t tell you exactly why, but I love Con-Tact paper. If I could make every activity a Con-Tac paper activity, I would. That’s one of the reasons I love this number match activity so much.

Setting up this number matching activity is so easy!

Materials:
(this list contains affiliate links)

• Con-Tact Paper
• Permanent Marker
• Felt Numbers (I found my felt numbers in the Target Dollar Spot section, but these ones look similar)

To make this simple number matching chart, draw a grid on a piece of Con-Tact paper. Add dots to represent the numbers 1 – 9.

After peeling off the back of the Con-Tact paper, tape it to the wall (sticky side out) and get ready for this simple number activity to begin!

The goal: match the felt numeral to the correct quantity of dots.

My son (3.5) loved this activity and we left it up for almost a week. It was a great quick activity to turn to when he needed a simple “filler” type activity.

I loved watching him count the number of dots then look for the felt numeral to add to the sticky wall.

Variations to this number match activity

I know that many of you don’t have felt number just lying around your house, but good news: there are so many easy variations to this activity!

• Use playing cards
• Write the numerals on sticky notes
• Cut out construction paper numbers

What are kids learning in this activity?

This number sense activity is great for helping children identify the quantity of a number with the numeral it represents. It gives a concrete visual to the abstract concept that 4 = four of something.
