Toddler math activities that are awesome.
Think toddlers aren’t ready to learn math? Think again! I’ve got an awesome round up here of 15 terrific toddler math activities to begin exposing kids to these great concepts. Math for toddlers isn’t a rigorous drill and kill of worksheets and fact families – it’s hands on, tactile, and conceptual.
Math is one of my favorite subjects to teach kids. It unlocks a magical world of thinking that will stay with them a lifetime. Think of something as simple as sorting: when a toddler is sorting, they are organizing information and making decisions about data. That’s math and it’s amazing to think our toddlers can be so successful with something so high level.
Remember to know your audience when you start activities like these and don’t get discouraged if your toddler needs a few tries. Rome and math concepts were not built in a day! Start small and work your way up.
Here’s a fantastic round up of 15 toddler math activities perfect for this early learning age group.
