Who doesn’t love a good summer camp?
Summer camp is one of those magical memories from childhood! Nothing beats the activities you’d do at summer camp so why not recreate that magic at home?
I’ve partnered up with some of my favorite blogging friends to bring you 12-weeks of Summer Camp at Home. Easy, fun, and memorable activities to keep your family busy and learning all summer long. You can find all the summer camp themes and activity links here. Now it’s my turn to join in on the summer camp fun!
A week of water and ice activities!
I’m a big fan of using water and ice in my activities – because, FREE. Well, mostly free (just gotta pay for that water bill).
There’s so much science to explore with water and ice:
- properties of solids and liquids
- learning about displacement
- density (will it sink of float?)
- vocabulary words like dissolve, evaporate, erode
Water and ice are powerful teaching tools – and they are so much fun too!
Check out my week’s worth of water and ice activities.
MONDAY: SPONGE TARGETS
Grab your sponges and a bucket of water for one seriously awesome family activity!
TUESDAY: ICE BATH FUN
There’s nothing better than a tub full of ice cubes!
WEDNESDAY: COLORFUL ICE BOATS
Bust out your old ice cube trays for some colorful boats
THURSDAY: HOSE TARGETS
Nothing like a little target practice on a hot summer day!
FRIDAY: RAINBOW ICE CUBES
So much learning in this experiment with colorful ice!
