Happy 60th Birthday, Play-Doh Brand!

Is there anything more nostalgic than opening a fresh PLAY-DOH can? It’s an icon of so many generations and a staple in my childhood memories. I’m so happy to be able to open up the PLAY-DOH world to my toddler (3 years old) and share a classic from my youth with him.

We are very excited to celebrate PLAY-DOH brand’s 60th birthday with the release of their PLAY-DOH Town collection.

Set your child’s imagination free!

Playing with this PLAY-DOH collection with my son brings back so many happy memories from my childhood and I can already see him building the same happy memories. Remember the anticipation of opening the new sets, the fun of cracking into a fresh can of compound, and the joy of building? It makes me smile just thinking about it and I loved watching him have those same feelings.

He is obsessed with the PLAY-DOH Town Firehouse, Ice Cream Truck and Ice Cream Girl, and the Pet Store Playset – and I’m obsessed with watching his creativity and imagination grow as he plays with them. There’s so much concentration and so much happiness in his face as he works with the compound. 

The PLAY-DOH Town collection sparked loads of storytelling from my toddler, too. Seeing the way he put out “fires” and set up a pretend ice cream snack for the PLAY-DOH Town figures was absolutely priceless.

He created a whole world for himself and was hooked for almost an hour. I can’t believe how long these playsets captured his attention! But I shouldn’t be surprised – I remember spending hours on end sculpting, building, and imagining with my PLAY-DOH compound as a kid.

Whether he was creating a fire pole in the Firehouse or adding silly bunny ears to the rabbit in the Pet Store, my toddler loved working with his hands.

Celebrating 60 years with the PLAY-DOH Brand!

The PLAY-DOH brand’s 60th birthday celebration will officially culminate on September 16th with World PLAY-DOH Day. I’m so glad my son will have the same happy memories with PLAY-DOH compound that I do from my childhood.
