All the Easter basket ideas for toddlers are RIGHT HERE!
Easter baskets do not need to be daunting, they do not need to cost you an arm and a leg, they do not need to be filled with more “junk.” I have so many Easter basket ideas for toddlers (and preschoolers and big kids) that are actually usable.

I love a good Easter basket moment…
I love Easter baskets BUT I also love things that are usable, realistic and not going to add to the toy-palooza that already engulfs my kids.We don’t need more tiny toys or candy in this house.
That’s why every year I make them a simple outdoor themed Easter basket to set my kids up for Spring and Summer fun.
Since Easter falls at the start of Springtime (duh), what a perfect chance to get kids the items they will need for a bang up spring and summer. And since it’s outdoor themed items, there’s nothing to add to the toy boxes inside our house…
These Easter Basket Ideas for Toddlers… are for older kids too!
This post really isn’t meant to just be for toddlers – in fact, my almost seven-year-old will be getting most all of these items yet again this year.
It’s become a sort of tradition for the “Easter Bunny” to gift my kids all the outdoor supplies they need and I’m perfectly fine with it. It kind of makes these baskets cost effective when it’s full of things I was already going to buy.

In no particular order, here are my favorite Easter basket ideas for toddlers and big kids, too:

Kids Tool Set: I love having real tools for my son to use in the yard and he needs some new ones. This set is awesome – we’ve loved ours!
Seed Packets: Back when I was a busy toddler (wink), my parents always included seed packets in my Easter basket and I loved it! I love carrying on this simple tradition with my kids (this pack is awesome because I can give a few to each kid and the neighbor kids!).
Swimsuit: I always put a new swim suit in the Easter basket – it’s an item they need and they get so excited opening it!
Sunglasses: Another fun item they need for summer that’s so easy to include in an Easter basket.
Sidewalk Chalk: A new warm season, a new set of chalk. It’s just how it has to be! Our chalk from last year is looking pretty tired. This fresh set should get the creative outdoor juices flowing!
Popsicle Trays: Who doesn’t love a homemade popsicle? Adding a set of these to the Easter basket is such a great nod to the fun summer around the corner.
Water Balloons: Does anything else say “summer is coming…” like a new set? Plus, since there’s 3 to a pack, I can divide this into each Easter basket.
Native Shoes: I splurge every year and buy my kids a pair of Natives. It’s the ONLY shoe they wear all spring and summer – I’ve never had to replace them. One pair gets us from April to September every year.
Beach Toy Set: What Spring/Summer isn’t complete without a new beach toy sets? This set is AWESOME for sand boxes, water tables, and giant dirt piles in your yard. It’s the perfect set for our outdoor Easter basket.
Paint with Water Supplies: Foam brushes and a cup with a handle are the best tools to paint with water. Your kiddo will love painting rocks and the sidewalk with their foam brushes. The bucket is perfect for holding just enough water for a toddler or preschooler. These brushes don’t last long so we’ll be getting a big pack like this this year!
Insect Catching Kit: Who doesn’t love catching a few bugs and observing them? This kit invites so much awesome science play. Work with your kiddo to safely grab bugs to watch before releasing them. I can’t wait to catch a few ants and worms with my toddler!
Spray Bottle: Best outdoor supply we own – a simple spray bottle. We spray flowers, we spray rocks, we spray wood. Even though my toddler has 3 (THREE!), I’ll still put a new one in his basket. He loves them way too much.
Kite: Who doesn’t love to fly a kite? It’s practically magical to see them sore! I’m so excited to add this to my son’s basket this year.
Watering Can: Every year I get my kids a new one – each gets their own. They love to water! It’s magic!
Creating an outdoor themed Easter basket for my toddler has been so much fun. I hope you liked all my ideas! I’d love to hear your Spring / Summer staples for your kiddos.
